Assisting Law Enforcement - Dealing with the Mentally Ill

By invitation from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Crisis Intervention Team Program, Genny Zhu and Ryan Hood recently made a presentation at the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department to law enforcement officers from several jurisdictions. This program, which took place on July 18, 2008, covered legal issues related to law enforcement encounters with persons afflicted with mental illness. Genny Zhu’s practice in the firm includes the representation of several mental health treatment providers. Ryan Hood practices in the firm’s construction law section, and is a former professional law enforcement officer.
